The Manpower Group is looking for an experienced senior level Automation Maintenance Lead professional. To be considered for this role you MUST HAVE ROCKWELL AUTOMATION EXPERIENCE. This job is located in Dudley, MA and it is a permanent position. Flexibility is a must due to the rotating shift involved.
The hours will be from 7:00pm-7:00am salary is from $45-$50K
ROLE
The Trainer/Team Leader/Automation Technician role is comprised of three primary functions; that of a Technical Trainer, a Process Team Leader, and also as a Automation Technician.
Acts as the lead technician and electro- mechanical specialist for the shift and assist the team in meeting productivity goals.
Create and maintain a positive work environment through effective communication with all the stakeholders (Operators, Supervisors, Education Coordinator, HR…), by supporting the culture of the organization and serving as a model for team behaviors. Must have a commitment to the overall organizational direction and the team-based approach.
Develop & Support high performance teams. Encourage continuous improvement, ensure a safe and healthy team environment and responsible for the technical training of the department.
MISSIONS AND ACTIVITIES -_TRAINER
Responsible for the technical training program for the department, including the training of new employees and support Team Members, training on department procedures, work instructions, SOPs, etc.. Seeks support from the Training Manager when necessary.
The Trainer /Team Leader is a electro-mechanical specialist - he/she has a thorough understanding of technical (skill) considerations for the job demonstrated through 1-3 years prior experience and has completed all technical training requirements for their assigned department.
Responsible for improving job performance through working with the supervisor to; identify skills improvement opportunities, and plan/coordinate internal/external training efforts.
Evaluate and report on trainee's technical and soft skilled competencies:
Generate training record when training is successfully completed, forward training record to Training Manager
Electronically document completed training
Bi-annual presentation to leadership on both job functions
Conduct certification testing on employees who have completed technical training programs.
Assist Engineers, SMEs, and Training Manager in the development of new training programs.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
MISSIONS AND ACTIVITIES -_TEAM LEADER
Report to and collaborate with supervisor on any process or personnel issues.
Uses his/her leadership skills and technical competences to facilitate the actions necessary to align team with daily maintenance and repair production goals, etc.
Partner with Team Members in creating or revising ISO related documents (SOPs, work instructions, POIs, MFGs, MCNs, etc.). Ensure ownership by the team.
Partner with Team Members in creating or revising Maintenance PM and work procedures in the
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) program.
Assure timely response to and processing of service requests in CMMS by Team Members.
Assure accurate documentation of maintenance activities in CMMS by Team Members.
Provide good communication of maintenance activities to following shifts.
Use team resources and his/her process expertise and technical competences to provide assistance to supervisor and engineering in problem solving.
Mentor team members to build technical skills.
Assist team in understanding real-time data provided through visual production data systems.
Assist in the support of and team understanding of the Quality Management System, Production
Management System, and STARpoint System.
Reference appropriate documents when required such as MSDS documents, system level SOPs,company policies and Policy Manual, and ISTM documents.

MISSIONS AND ACTIVITIES -_AUTOMATION TECHNICIAN
Knowledge of various control system platforms such as PLC, Fanuc, Siemens, DCS, Wonderware, Intellution.
Calibrate and adjust equipment as required or scheduled.
Develop predictive maintenance procedures to maximize replacement component life without compromise to equipment efficiency and performance.
Knowledge of various automation components such as, pneumatics, electronics, sensors and switches. .
Able to read and understand electrical and pneumatic schematics.
Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problem.
Set up and test equipment to ensure that it functions properly. In addition, operate equipment to
demonstrate proper use and to analyze malfunctions.
Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations and tests.
Calibrate testing instruments and installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.
Consult with customers, supervisor, and engineers to plan layout of equipment and to resolve problems in system operation and maintenance.
Advise supervisor regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements.
Preventative and unplanned maintenance for 480V 3 phase substations switches to 120VAC, 24VDC individual field devices. Components include, but not limited to, main switchgear, variable frequency drives(VFD), motor starters, motor protection devices, discreet I/O (limit switches, photoeyes, proxs etc.), generators,
transformers, and interconnecting wiring.
Full understanding of the facility's' power distribution system.
Maintains equipment in compliance with National Electric Code (NEC) and Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) rules and regulations.
Have operation knowledge of the process in the three major areas, Utilities, Processing, and Packaging.
Participates as team member and understands and applies LEAN principals used in the facility's
continuous improvement initiatives.
MEANS (HUMAN OR OTHERS)
Microsoft Office Programs; PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
Good working knowledge of CMMS, Preventative maintenance software
Knowledge of Building maintenance software.
Knowledge of Building support systems, electrical, gas, compressed air, town water, sanitary, HVAC, sprinkler, fire alarm, fire suppression, security, telephone, plant access.
Strong team-based approach and Leadership qualities.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
(TMS) Training and document control data base.
CI tools and programs/basic knowledge of adult learning theory
OEE and TPM tools.
Proficiency with Rockwell Automation's SLC and Control Logix processors using RSLogix 500 and RSLogix 5000.
Proficiency with RSNetworx for DeviceNet and DeviceNet networking technology.
Proficiency with RSNetworx for ControlNet and ControlNet networking technology.
Proficiency with RSFieldbus for Foundation Fieldbus and the ability to understand, troubleshoot, and configure instruments on the network.
Proficiency with Rslogix programming software desirable.
A strong working knowledge of using various programming and diagnostic software packages to configure and troubleshoot.
Knowledge of Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan (Mass Hazardous waste regulation-310 CMR.30.521- 30.524.)
PERFORMANCE CRITERIA
Education equivalent to an accredited apprenticeship in a recognized trade, craft, or occupation, or equivalent to a 2-year technical college education and 10 years maintenance an facility experience.
Strong technical competencies in electro-mechanical and automation skills.
Prior leadership experience preferred
Strong human relations skills
Able to set a good example to employees with regard to company policies and procedures.
Able to motivate others, including teams, and challenge individuals to come up with new ideas.
