    Preferred Qualifications
    1. Microsoft MySQL/ SQL Server Certification
    2. Experience administering large MySQL/ SQL Server databases
    3. Experience with SQL query and database internal tuning
    4. Experience with ETL operations across other database platform (Oracle)
    5. Experience with configuration of proactive monitoring and alerting
    6. Experience with database replication and disaster recovery
    7. Experience installing & configuring cluster databases
    8. ITIL Certification, training or experience in an ITIL environment

    Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
    Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
  • Manages and maintains all production and non-production relational databases and replication servers
  • Oversees and/or performs database installation and configure database parameters
  • Schedules and performs upgrades
  • Manages database privileges and elements
  • Monitors database and replication servers for resource utilization and provides ongoing trend analysis for determining current need and forecasting for future resource requirements
  • Creates logical storage units and maps database elements into these logical units
  • Monitors the use of disk space and take actions to optimize use of space
  • Performs back up and recovery, database consistency checking, and loading and unloading of data
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive database software configuration database/library
  • Develops and promotes standards and procedures (e.g., operating or security procedures)
  • Conducts software audits of database products for compliance with established standards, policies, configuration guidelines, and procedures
  • Participates in the design of applications
