Position Summary:
Under general supervision, utilizes standard Geospatial Information Technology (GIT) to process spatial and non-spatial data within established parameters set by NHNM. Assists the GIS Analyst in all aspects of GIT at NHNM including the acquisition, processing, and analysis of spatial data. Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 1. Creates geospatial data from various formats, including Global Positioning System devices, tabular data, and subsets of existing datasets. 2. Maintains ArcGIS databases, including file geodatabases and Enterprise databases. 3. Makes field maps for the organization's field crew. This is a benefits eligible position. Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree with at least 1 year of work experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Experience using ArcGIS 10.x, ArcInfo software. 2. Experience in ERDAS Imagine software. 3. Experience running ArcToolbox and making field maps. 4. Biology degree. Demonstrated interest and experience in conservation biology. Understanding of New Mexico species biology. 5. Ability to use a range of computer software that includes Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. 6. Knowledge of Heritage data systems and methodology. 7. Knowledge of relational database theory and systems. Ability to write queries in Access. 8. Ability to document procedures.
