Responsibilities Works in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team members The Emergency Department continuously provides a multi-disciplinary approach to emergency medical care to meet the diverse physical, emotional, and educational needs of the community in a safe, respectful environment The Emergency Department provides care on a 24/7 days a week basis and contributes a large percentage of admissions to the inpatient units Qualifications Education/Experience: High school graduate or GED preferred Ability to recognize respiratory and/or cardiac arrest and to alert others Successful completion of BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Successful completion of nursing assistant program or completion of EMT certification OR RN or LPN student with 1 semester of clinical experience in school Previous experience in acute care preferred, not required Hospital (specifically ER or Critical Care) experience preferred If previously phlebotomy trained, practical and written competencies must be evaluated by the standards of the United Hospital Laboratory Skills: Effective communication skills Customer service/interpersonal skills Multi-tasking skills, and a team player Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work well with a variety of people in a team setting Organizational/time management skills/ prioritization skills Ability to prioritize and problem solve within a job description Ability to speak, read, and write English with clarity Pay,Benefits, & Work Schedule Part-time: 36 hours/week Evening Shift Every other weekend Work Schedule: 3 - 11:30pm or 5pm - 1:30am L113 Contract Location/Community Information With beautiful natural settings along the Mississippi River, St. Paul embodies a large ethnically diverse population with restaurants, cultural entertainment, and shopping venues for everyone.
