GoPro is seeking a top tier candidate for the Copywriter role. The position will be responsible for GoPro’s voice across marketing and brand materials in both print and web mediums. The copywriter will develop and manage content for retail marketing collateral, product catalogs, email campaigns, website, landing pages, consumer user manuals and other marketing material. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of B2C advertising techniques and marketing principles and solid understanding of consumers’ interaction with various media and strength in adjusting language based on medium.
Write engaging and persuasive headlines, product descriptions and collateral for all consumer communications
Communicate complex technical data in a clear and compelling manner to our target audiences
Collaborate with creative team, brand marketing, and product marketing teams to create product positioning, sell sheets, catalogs and advertising, among other materials
Develop compelling copy that differentiates the consumer brand and stays true to the brand voice.
Ensure copy is right for our customers and helps to aggressively drive key initiatives. Create concepts that are extendable into campaigns and synchronize extensions across other collateral.
In-depth understanding of industry marketing strategy and business principle.
Drive continuous process improvement to discover efficiencies and make recommendations within the department and at the same time improve copy capabilities.
Manage translation process with traffic manager on most materials
Accurately and comprehensively design and develop product documentation (including updating and maintaining consumer user manuals, online help, training materials, packaging, and other reference documents)
Bachelor degree required, preferably with English/Journalism focus
5+ years of copywriting experience in both print and web, with emphasis in branding
English proficiency and excellent grammatical, writing and editorial skills
In-depth knowledge of B2C advertising techniques and marketing principles
Ability to understand technical content and quickly learn new material
Solid understanding of consumers’ interaction with various media, and strength in adjusting language based on medium
Superior storytelling capabilities with careful attention to flow and cadence
Experience writing copy for product launches
Experience authoring content for product detail pages product catalogs, etc.
Experience developing website content; including landing pages optimized by keywords.
Comprehensive understanding of marketing, technology, and media
Ability to present complex technical information to a consumer audience
Electronics industry experience a plus
Passion for outdoors a plus
