The Youth Care Worker works closely with the Group Home Supervisor, on a relief (scheduled to work as neeed) basis, to provide nurturing, direct care and supervision of adolescent females in a basic level group home facility. This will include parenting, managing and guiding residents physically, spiritually, educationally, socially and emotionally. This person is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timely completion of daily activity logs, medication check sheets, and Medicaid Reimbursement Forms. This person may assist with the distribution of weekly allowance monies, and assist residents as needed with homework assignments. The Youth Care Worker will transport and supervise residents during activities such as shopping, doctor appointments, church visits, field trips and other activities related to their growth and development.
This position does not have a set schedule - selected candidates will be scheduled to work on an as needed basis.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED Certificate) required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Six months experience working with children and/or families in a therapeutic environment required. Previous experience working with teenagers preferred. Proficiency in computer use and understanding of basic word processing and spreadsheet software required. Physical health that is adequate to participate, when appropriate, in residents’s activities and the ability to lift and carry up to forty (40) pounds is required. Must be twenty-one (21) years of age. Valid driver’s license from state of residence required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing using the English language required.
