The Textile Designer will c reate, manipulate, and develop original artwork as a Textile Designer in the Women’s apparel industry. Design at an intermediate level as part of the product design process, ensuring artwork is designed to meet target customer’s profile and the business strategy for the brand.

Responsibilities :
Responsible for the design and development of artwork, ensuring that arttwork is consistent with market trends as well as business strategy.

Manage workload while meeting deadlines with minimal guidance or supervision.

Actively participate in work sessions providing recommendations regarding seasonal themes, new concepts and insight as it relates to the brand

Develop original prints, patterns, and embellished designs at the moderate to advanced level as requested by Merchants and/or Senior Designer, that must fit into the overall Trend and Color direction while maintaining the brand identity.

Prepare and attend weekly artwork reviews with merchants/trend

Responsible for creating and organizing digital color palettes based on standards provided by trend per season. Also, responsible for selecting and matching color tonals per season.

Assist with responsibilities in Design (Printer, updating, filing, etc…)

Required Experience

Experience using CAD technology, proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, NED graphics a plus but not required

Proven artistic ability with prior design experience, portfolio required

Working knowledge of textile design: including repeats, print processes and fabrications

Experience in presentation skills to sell ideas, concepts and convince others to adopt a course of action

Experience working as part of a team with the ability to interact effectively with multiple cross functional teams

Proven artistic ability with prior design experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong organizational and time management skills

Team player and self starter, with the ability to follow direction of others, take constructive criticism, and perform under the pressure of a busy work schedule

Willingness to learn additional skills as the job requires
