We are in need of a Production Tamper Operator who will be working as part of a group to install new railroad track, maintain existing track systems or the railroad right of way. This candidate MUST have experience operating either a Mark IV or Jackson 6700 Tamper.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate railroad mounted Tamper to move Ballast on railroad tracks
  • Participate in group meetings including safety meetings, job briefing, etc
  • Operating powered and manual equipment, remove and replace track and track components including rail, ties, switches and ballast materials
Working Conditions:
  • Working in an outside environment regardless of weather conditions
  • Walks and stands for extended periods on areas with uneven footing and surface
  • Performs very heavy work requiring heavy lifting of 70 - 100 lbs
  • Work schedule may involve overtime including holidays and weekends
  • Extended travel required -- throughout East Coast
Employment Qualifications:
  • Must have a valid driver's license -- CDL Class A preferred
  • Must be able to perform heavy physical labor
  • Must be able to understand oral and written instructions
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Must satisfactorily complete pre-employment FRA safety training
