Gibson Guitar Corp, home to such preeminent brands such as Gibson, Epiphone, Baldwin, Wurlitzer, Kramer, Tobias, Slinger, and OAI is looking for a Corporate Director Quality Assurance and Operational Excellence to join the expanding executive team. Work closely with the Chief Orderfulfilment Officer, General Managers and Divisions Quality Assurance Managers, to align continuous improvement projects with business key performance indicators. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, work well in a team environment, able to adhere to highest ethical standards Passionately drive continuous improvement culture while implementing the strategic roadmap to achieve breakthrough performance in working capital, quality, delivery, cost, and growth. Lead improvement teams utilizing the six sigma methodology and lean techniques, track project schedule, benefits, and other key metrics. Assures effective build to schedule results by implementing processes to deliver quality products on time. Support the Chief Orderfulfilment Officer, and General Managers in standardization of processes and training material as specified in rolling out Operational Excellence Strategy across Gibson divisions. This role has responsibility for multiple sites and requires approximately 40% or more travel. Take aggressive action to drive financial performance in the areas of productivity, purchase price, and facility variances.
Required Skills Must be a proven leader and team player, with a track record in change management. Strong team builder, mentor and coach. Demonstrated ability to implement new techniques and continuous improvement programs at all levels of manufacturing operations. Understanding and minimum 10 years experience with world class manufacturing and principles including JIT, Demand Flow, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma techniques. Planning and organizational skills – prioritization, resource allocation, multi-tasking. Creative and innovative approach to problem resolution. Facilitation, negotiation, and conflict management skills. Computer skills – in Mini Tab, Microsoft Office and Project Management. Ability to communicate verbally and in written form with people at all levels inside and outside the company. Bachelors degree in engineering MBA preferred. 7 to 15 years minimum experience in manufacturing and materials management is required. Experienced and certified Black\Belt, Green Belt\or Lean Expert
