Manage all phases of primary and secondary market research studies
Consult with business partners to develop research project objectives and provide effective research designs in meeting their division’s needs
Assist in the development of research study methodologies
Design screeners and survey instruments for quantitative (mail, telephone, online) and/or discussion guides for qualitative (focus groups, one-on-one) research studies
Collect and analyze data using statistical methods (descriptive statistics, cross- tabulation, correlation, etc.)
Manage subcontractors responsible for fielding and tabulating data when necessary.
Prepare detailed and accurate written reports (including data tables, charts and graphics) with sound recommendations for distribution to management and internal business partners.
Clearly communicate research results and conclusions at the appropriate level to various internal and external audiences.
Provide support to business partners who require assistance understanding their data on an “as needed” basis.
Analyze secondary research and internal data sources to better understand market and competitive trends and impacts to the organization. Summarize these studies to provide pertinent information to business partners.
Able to organize and complete multiple projects efficiently and within deadlines. Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, market research, statistics, psychology, business, or related field or equivalent experience.
One to three years experience designing and conducting surveys or market research.
Working knowledge of statistical analysis techniques (descriptive, cross-tabulations, correlation, etc.).
Experience with qualitative methods (like focus groups and in-depth interviews)
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and statistical software (SPSS or SAS).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and meet specific timelines.
Experience developing data storage and/or knowledge sharing systems Experience consulting business partners on development of their own research efforts
