Pantech, the worlds fastest-growing global handset manufacturer and one of the worlds leading mobile phone providers is currently seeking a Product Manager for their Pantech Wireless Inc., North American division. This position will be based in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
The Product Manager position will be responsible for the launch of devices into all customer channels, including coordinating all product customization and packaging needs, as well as, supporting customer requests in a timely and professional manner. Must have the ability to anticipate and proactively address issues that might delay or prevent the launch of a product, the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with the customer and Pantechs Headquarters, and the ability to resolve issues that might impact the relationship between Pantech and our customer.
Manage future and current product portfolio in the North American markets for key customer.
Determine the right mix of products in portfolio to maximize competitive position in marketplace.
Interface with customer to make sure products are aligned with service and technology needs.
Work with to develop focus groups and customer research.
Serve as a lead on making sure Pantechs position with proper mix of data services and applications in the different product segments.
Will be responsible for key updates and reports for internal and external customer.
Coordinate product color selection and improve processes to reduce the number of color samples. Maintain MAXD requirements to ensure Pantech is compliant.
Develop and maintain customization documents.
Coordinate user interface meetings and feedback to Pantech headquarters regarding customer.
Serves as a liaison between Pantech Headquarters and customer to coordinate selected devices.
Regularly conduct customer on-site visits as needed in order to manage device related issues.
May be required to participate in key industry/standards organizations.
Coordinate development and approval of launch items with customer and Pantechs headquarters including, packaging of boax and blister artwork, user guide, inserts and screen cling, product customization, ringtones, wallpapers, branding, color, materials, finish, usability, and pre-loaded content such as games and video.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree, preferably in Business, or Marketing; five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of wireless industry experience.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
Ability to understand carrier structure and have ability to create key relationships
Product management life cycle experience.
Understanding of wireless marketplace
Energetic, enthusiastic, and self motivated personality with detail oriented, as well as, have an affinity for working with people.
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Adobe Suite of graphic applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
