System Thermal Intern
The System Thermal Intern within the System Engineering and Architecture Division's MIC Product Development (MPD) team will perform exploratory investigations of leading edge cooling technologies targeted toward technical computing systems (ie Supercomputing, High Performance Computing, and Workstations.) The intern will be expected to develop system cooling concepts showcasing how new technologies could be adopted and planned within Intel's thermal technology development roadmap. Technologies could include advanced air cooling, liquid cooling, immersion cooling, or other technologies as suitable to the expertise of the candidate. The candidate will be expected to support their concepts with theoretical analysis as well as empirical testing.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
- Must be pursuing a MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or Electrical Engineering ,
Physics or related field of engineering
Experience in empirical testing and thermal analysis
Aptitude for innovative thinking and developing creative engineering solutions
Keen attention to detail and ability to identify and address technical problems
Effective written and verbal communication skills
