ZACHRY is currently accepting applications from experienced
Journeyman Ironworkers to
work at International Paper in Eastover, SC.

Position Responsibilities:
Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts,
following blueprints and instructions from supervisors

Follows direction from supervisor

Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and

Demonstrated industrial Ironworker history

Knowledge of hand tools, power tools and layout
tools , have hand tools for the trade

Knowledge of industrial machinery and equipment

Organization and time management & good
problem-solving abilities

Must have good aptitude reading comprehension, and
manual dexterity

Ability to work with others – team player,
good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors

Commitment to Zachry values and safety rules and

Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place, using
cranes, or signal hoisting equipment operators to lift and position
structural-steel members.

Bolt aligned structural steel members in position for
permanent riveting, bolting, or welding into place.

Ride on girders or other structural steel members to
position them or use rope to guide them into position.

Fabricate metal parts, such as steel frames, columns,
beams, or girders, according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.

Pull, push, or pry structural steel members into
approximate positions for bolting into place.

Cut, bend, or weld steel pieces, using metal shears,
torches, or welding equipment.

Fasten structural steel members to hoist cables, using
chains, cables, or ropes

Minimum of 3 years Industrial Ironworker

Must have reliable transportation and be able to
work 7 days as needed

Valued but not required skills,

knowledge, and abilities:
Former Zachry employee

Formal education/degree/certificate in construction,
technical or trade school such as NCCER Certification

Basic Computer proficiency

Physical demands and work

Physical demands:
Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts
of standing, walking, bending, squatting and lifting. Will talk and hear to communicate. Will use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push,
pull: objects, materials, controls
and tools. May be required to lift,
carry and move up to 25lbs. Will
occasionally work at
heights, climb ladders and stairways and work off of platforms. Will use vision abilities to focus, see
short and long distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision. Will be required to wear personal
protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety
glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and
steel-toe boots.

Work environment:
Will work
in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot – cool/cold. Occasional rain. Will work at different elevations. Noise levels will be moderate to
high. Job site will contain light
to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication
equipment and tools. People
standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking. Bells, whistles and alarms.
