Mathematics/Statistics: Mississippi State
University-Meridian, Division of Arts & Sciences, is accepting
applications for the position of Assistant Professor of
Mathematics/Statistics. This is a tenure-track position beginning
August 16, 2011. Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in mathematics; MBA;
extensive graduate work in statistics; prior teaching experience;
and strong commitment to effective teaching. Preferred
qualifications: The ideal candidate will have some math education
and business background, and will have extensive experience working
with nontraditional and minority student populations.
Responsibilities: teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate
courses in mathematics and/or statistics (mathematics primarily
taught to elementary education majors and statistics primarily
taught to business majors); participate in professional and
curriculum development; and engage in other departmental and
