Director of Marketing – Washington, DC area

The Marketing Director is responsible for all
advertising and marketing of all events at The Fillmore
in Silver Spring, MD and The Warner Theatre in
Washington, DC plus assisting VP of Marketing with other
Live Nation area events.

  • Handling all publicity requests including press
releases, solicit stories for upcoming events, handles
day of show photo/media requests.
  • Maintain and update press and contact lists (radio,
television, print, web).
  • Compiling and sending press releases, publicity
materials and photos to writers, editors and other
promoter partners as directed.
  • Writing radio copy, distributing spots to both radio
and television stations, sending instructions to traffic
managers. Works with in house graphics department on
print ads, flyers, postcards and posters for upcoming
  • Arrange artist/media interviews; phone-ins, remotes,
in-studio, etc.
  • Develops creative marketing/promotional plans with
outside agents and managers.
  • Implements creative marketing/promotional plans with
local media including the negotiation of rates and the
implementation of paid/trade advertising schedules.
  • Coordinate show and non-show related marketing
projects and initiatives.
  • Creating high impact promotions and strong consumer
awareness for each event with a focus on non- paid media
which results in driving ticket sales.
  • Obtain non-ticket promotion elements from artist
management such as meet and greets and back stage
  • Build strong relationships with record labels, local
publicity firms, artist management, internal employees
and management and other industry stake holders.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience marketing live
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work day, evening and weekend hours,
based on the needs of daily business operations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
(Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Maintain a positive public/professional profile at
all times
