This is a mid level position in the Cargo Assembly group. Individuals should have completed the Certified Operator Program per MP1055 and be able to work with minimal supervision. In general this position is responsible for performing assembly operations as detailed in the Manufacturing Order and engineering drawing, functional testing of product, and kitting/packaging of hardware for shipment. Individuals will also have responsibility for quality inspection and buy off of non-end item hardware. Candidates are expected to be able to function in a team environment, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and participate in Continuous Improvement activities in their work areas.
ASSEMBLY OF HARDWARE PER MANUFACTURING ORDER, ENGINEERING DRAWING, AND APPLICABLE SPECIFICATIONS.
Packaging and kitting of parts for shipment
Inspection and buy off of non-end item hardware
Assist Part Dispatchers as required with pulling inventory details for assembly jobs
Parts Dispatch as required to support the specific assembly area they are in
Assist with cycle counting and lot traceability
Must adhere to all EH & S regulations and policies as well as attend related training courses.
Follow the EH & S roles and responsibilities in accordance with the Cargo Policy MP5322.
Participate in Continuous Activities as required
Basic Qualifications:
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA, OR EQUIVALENT
Basic computer knowledge
Use of hand and power tools
Certified Operator per MP1055
Certifications as required for assembly area of responsibility (ESD, sealing, soldering, etc….)
Basic shop math skills
Basic blueprint reading
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Torque wrench calibration MD 1000
Support Customer Demands
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to function productively as part of a team
