If you think you have what it takes, apply for our full time Systems Engineer role at our Olathe, KS Headquarters location. As a Systems Engineer, you’ll be responsible for generating advanced and testable requirements for a system and/or complex feature set, allocating requirements and assuring compatibility among sub-systems and/or features, and collecting information regarding product-required functionality, manufacturing, installation, operating environment and interfaces to the design team.
You’ll have the opportunity to support generation and documentation of project proposals and reports, including detailed assumptions for new opportunities, participate in the investigation and documentation of root cause analysis related to product development, manufacturing, warranty and field failures, and you’ll support cross-functional teams in system architecture and integration activities.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate and add value through participation in design reviews, providing comments and suggestions on design aspects
- Provide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques, including identifying technical root cause and developing corrective actions for given problems
- Estimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes, and provide comments on some electrical design aspects
- Serve as a mentor to less experienced Systems Engineers (Systems Engineer 1)
Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Software Engineering or related field with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Demonstrated effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, a successful track record in managing problems and providing successful solutions, and demonstrated proficient use and knowledge of relevant engineering tools and design standards are also required for this role.
Candidates with previous work or internship experience in a consumer electronics company, prior experience deducing software requirements from user interface designs and stakeholder interviews and a high level of attention to detail are preferred.
