Provides a multitude of services for clients, patients, and staff in the financial and operational activities of the Laboratory's client services' area, couriers, phlebotomy and processing activities for Hagerstown Medical Laboratory. Acts as a liaison between the staff and the Laboratory Manager to ensure laboratory services are provided in a timely and accurate manner in order to aid the clinicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.


Education: High school eduation or the equivalent. Formal training as a medical assistant and/or training in medical terminology and diagnosis coding preferred. An emmployee hired without the medical terminology and ICD-9 coding training will have to complete training in these areas within one year.
Experience: Knowledge of medical terminology and certification for CPR preferred. Phlebotomy certification helpful. At least one year experience or training in laboratory-related area or medical provider office preferred.
Other: Demonstrated manual dexterity and good communication skills. Must satisfactorily complete on-the-job training provided by supervisor within the probationary period, unless extension is granted by the lab manager. Ten contract hours of WCHSI sponsored continuing education in an identified area during the past twelve months.
