This position provides clinical consultation to home visiting and maternal and child health programs to ensure compliance with nursing standards of care and provides subject matter expertise on maternal and child health topics as needed.

Duties:
This position serves as a Public Health Nurse Consultant and is responsible for: 1) Nursing consultation; 2) outreach, training and program support; and 3) other duties as assigned.

Competencies:Required for the first day of work:
Knowledge of the concepts and theories of the nursing and public health fields.

Ability to prepare and conduct trainings and or technical assistance.

Ability to write technical or clinical reports, and clinical policies and protocols.

Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions.

Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, including using spreadsheets, word processing, database, email, internet and other computer programs.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major course work in nursing.

Must possess a current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in Montana.

Two years of nursing experience.

Other combinations of directly related education/experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
