Plans, develops and coordinates all phases of donor development and the solicitation of financial support for The Salvation Army programs and services for the Corps; plans, develops and coordinates public relation programs with the media, private and public sector organizations and churches; serves as liaison to the Divisional Headquarters Community Relations and Development Department staff.
Knowledge of The Salvation Army mission and philosophy; modern principles and practices of individual, corporate, foundation, grant-seeking, and special events fund raising; ability to interpret charitable solicitation laws, The Salvation Army policies, and local, state, and federal laws as they relate to fund raising and charitable solicitation; donor records management and administration as well as data and trend analysis; the principles and practices of budgeting and financial management; the principles and practices of effective communications and public relations. Ability to produce the highest possible monetary return for The Salvation Army through an effective and efficient Financial Development Program; design, plan, administer and monitor the day-to-day operations of a Regional Financial Development Program and to ensure compliance to the mission of The Salvation Army; lead, motivate, encourage, and inspire volunteers working on financial development activities; work effectively with Divisional administration, field staff, legal counsel, and office staff; conduct the affairs of the office responsibly, efficiently, and economically, and to motivate the staff to do likewise. Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory on a frequent basis to work with divisional and local unit financial development staff, their donors, and professionals of their communities.
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Marketing OR a related field with specialized training in Fund Raising Management highly desirable AND three to five years of progressively responsible experience in fund raising and fund-raising management OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
$35,000 - $40,000 annually
