Job OverviewThe Media Associate at Morning Star Church is responsible for the production and implementation of visual media elements at MSC. Cross-ministry media elements are emphasized and include, but are not limited to, The Scoop (or other announcement related videos), video blogs, ministry advertisement/testimonials and content primarily created for use on the web. In addition to providing media support and content throughout the various ministries at MSC, the Media Associate will also play a key support role in the Worship Arts Ministry, reporting to the Media Director, Worship Arts Director and Lead Pastor. The position will collaborate with the Director of Communications and work closely with other staff members, volunteers and the congregation.Responsibilities1.Primary Dutiesa.Participate in staff planning meetingsb.Utilize knowledge, technology, and artistic skills to enhance overall ministry at MSC with regard to visual mediai.Shoot, direct and edit original projects as assigned with an emphasis on cross-ministry projectsii.Serve as media liaison for ministries outside of Worship Arts (Children, Youth, Communications, etc.)iii.Serve as necessary as Technical Director at ancillary events requiring visual mediac.Work closely with Communications Dept.

in developing and implementing compelling interactive media elementsd.Mobilize volunteer teams as necessary to assist with taskse.Assist in obtaining, organizing and archiving all MSC media team content. This includes but is not limited to:i.Event footageii.Original project footage and edit filesiii.Photos (Baptisms, Events, Missions, etc.)iv.Artistic elements purchased or created for projects (logos, vector art, stock video/photography, music beds, voice-overs, etc.)v.Presentation files (Easy Worship, Powerpoint, ProPresenter, etc.)f.A/V archival recordings of services and/or events2.Secondary Dutiesa.Assist with researching and implementing continual technological evolution of MSCb.Assist with schedules of all media-related volunteers as necessaryc.Assist with purchase and maintenance of all equipment related to visual media in the worship space as necessaryd.Assist with administration of Media Budget as necessary3.Skills and Talentsa.Must be dependableb.Must demonstrate a teachable spiritc.Must possess leadership abilitiesd.Must be a team playere.Must be organizedf.Must function with a high level of excellence artistically & creatively g.Basic technical knowledge of the following is a plus:i.Computers (ministry currently operates on Mac platform)ii.Projectorsiii.Visual playback devicesiv.Professional and/or Pro-sumer video camerasv.Video mixers and/or switchersvi.Cabling and signal flow related to visual media (and some level of audio knowledge as it relates to video)h.Must have intimate knowledge of software related to visual mediai.Final Cut Pro (preferred), Adobe Premiere Pro or similar non-linear video editing softwareii.Adobe After Effects (preferred), Apple Motion or similar motion graphics software. Knowledge of Cinema 4D or other 3D modeling solution is a plusiii.Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or similar raster/vector graphics editing softwareiv.Microsoft PowerPoint, ProPresenter, Easy Worship or similar lyric display/presentation software 4. Education / Experiencea.College graduate or equivalent work-related experienceb.Experience in operating, troubleshooting and managing various types of visual media equipment (cameras, computers, projectors, video mixers, lights, etc.)c.Experience with interactive/web-based mediad.Experience in a cutting edge church media ministry a plus
