POSITION: MANAGER, EMERGENCY SERVICES
Alliance-Wide
Full-Time Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Program Director, Emergency Services, the Manager is responsible for facilitating care for and flow of Emergency patients at all 4 Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance Emegency Departments. The Manager will provide operational leadership and management for the Emergency Departments at the Clinton, St. Marys, Seaforth and Stratford Sites and will work cooperatively and supportively with nursing units, diagnostic, therapeutic and support staff, medical staff and external healthcare partners. The Manager will provide significant input into the preparation of the departmental budget and will take a leadership role in disaster planning. As a leader within the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance, the Manager, ER will actively engage staff in process optimization and will lead by example in the provision of Patient Centred Care.

REPORTS TO: Program Director, Emergency Services

DATE REQUIRED: As Soon As Possible

QUALIFICATIONS:
BScN or Bachelors degree in related field
Current registration with, or be eligible for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or appropriate regulated College
Current B.C.L.S

EXPERIENCE:
Recent management or supervisory experience

ABILITIES:
Demonstrated exceptional leadership and team building skills
Exceptional Clinical Skills in the area of Emergency Services
Proven management skills including financial, human resources, quality improvement, change management, evaluation and planning and utilization management skills
Well developed mutual gain negotiation and conflict management resolution skills
Demonstrated analytical skills necessary to gather and interpret qualitative and quantitative data
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Effective presentation skills
Demonstrated planning, organizational and time management skills
Well-developed computer skills, including knowledge of Meditech and Microsoft Office programs
