The Adoption Preservation Social Worker/Counselor will provide home based clinical services to families who are struggling with adoption issues and severe emotional and behavioral difficulties. The candidate will complete assessments and provide individual, family, and group therapy services. The candidate will provide specialized treatment services in the areas of attachment, grief, loss, and trauma. Evening hours are required.

The candidate will also provide intake services on the PostAdoptionCallCenteras needed. As a clinician working on the Post Adoption Call Center Intake Line, the candidate will be responsible for answering the Call Center Intake line as needed in the program. This includes making referrals to DCFS funded programs, linking callers to community resources, and assisting callers with questions regarding subsidies, services available to former DCFS wards, and other resources.

A bilingual (Spanish) candidate is preferred but not required and the candidate must have a Masters in Social Work, Counseling or Related Field. The candidate must have strong clinical skills, knowledge of family systems, child and adolescent mental health, and adoption issues. The candidate needs to have familiarity with Medicaid Rule 132.
