GFIT seek to hire a business analyst into the Equities Data Team. The GFIT team consists of business analysts and IT specialists who are responsible for delivering strategic and significant tactical change to the finance area including Product Control Group (PC), Treasury, Accounting Control, Regional Controlling and Valuations.
The Data Team is responsible for the feeds delivered from the Risk Management and Settlement Systems to the Finance layer and for ensuring appropriate F2B controls are in place. The business analyst will be the part of a product aligned team who own of a number of the Equities feeds.
The business analyst will be responsible for: - Analysis and definition of solutions for IFRS, Regulatory, Business Model, New business Proposals, FO deliveries. - Scoping and assessment phases for each change requested - Providing SME knowledge in more general discussions/forums such as around target operating models. - Considering the overall strategic implementation of the feed - Ways to reduce costs and gain efficiencies in the testing strategies employed.
The analyst will be expected to have a strong understanding of the functions undertaken by Finance and an understanding of design principles to implement new business requirements in a controlled manner. They will work closely with all faculties within Finance, development teams, testing teams, release management and the finance design team.
The role will involve: Data sourcing work * Understanding and documenting the Functional requirements, including controls around these processes and SLAs. This may at times include business requirements. * Defining the details of how new requirements will be delivered, including documentation and review of a technical specifications / CAL specs. * Working with the wider GFIT team to ensure development is completed accurately and within the agreed time frames. * Designing test cases and working closely with offshore teams to carry out testing ensuring it is documented to a high standard * Supporting user end testing where appropriate * Obtaining / Coordinating sign offs from the stakeholders including answering any queries they may have * Coordination with release teams * Keep the lights on activities
- minimisation of feed failures and support of upstream release changes
Portfolio Management * Providing impact assessments on changes affecting the IB (IFRS, Mercury etc). This will include impact on existing process and identification of new change * Coordination and prioritisation of changes ensuring the budget for change is reasonable and deliveries can be met within agreed timelines
People Management * Leadership / mentorship to offshore analysts and developers
