Reporting to the Manager, Domestic Cash Operations, the Investment Operations Cash Representative II will ensure the safeguarding of cash for all funds under management by accurately performing various daily reconciliations of cash availability projections. Analyze and manage the information flow from various sources such as custodian bank network, Portfolio Management, Fidelity Management Resources (FMR) Trading, Fund Accounting, and the Transfer Agent Accounting and Control group to diminish operational risk. Develop and maintain individual relationships with representatives of the custodian bank network and provide support to FMR, Fund Accounting, the Trading desks and the Treasurer’s office.
The Investment Operations Cash Representative II is responsible for the daily tasks associated with fulfilling the departments policies associated with cash management, loan administration and related projects for all funds under management. Errors in judgment, non-settlement of cash and securities may lead to potential loss to the funds and Fidelity. Requires appropriate decisions and escalation of critical issues resulting in the safeguarding of the fund’s assets.
Responsible for analyzing, reconciling, and reporting cash balances to FMR trading. In addition, monitor cash balances throughout the day.
Ensure the timely receipt of cash through management, control, and analysis of Domestic/International market practices. Functions include Cash Management and Loan Administration.
Responsible for preparing, analyzing and reviewing various management reports for the weekly management package as well as special requests.
Provide ongoing support of business relationships with partners of the Custody Division i.e., FMR Trading, TAAC, Portfolio Management, Fund Accounting and the Treasurer’s office.
Identify, analyze and communicate potential operational risk from the cash functions including loans and discrepancies in data.
Escalate problems which could have significant impact on daily operations and/or could adversely affect customer/vendor relations.
Assist with departmental project work, as required.
Education and Experience
0-2 years of relevant industry experience preferred via entry level positions or internships
Bachelor’s Degree expected, but not required
Strong skills in various PC software applications to include Microsoft, Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
