Governors State University invites applications for a Recruitment and Retention Coordinator. This position will be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating recruitment, admission, and retention activities for all programs in the College of Education. The individual in this position will use the available technology to develop and implement strategies to increase the number of inquiries, applications, and enrolled students in all of the COE programs, with an emphasis on targeted programs as identified by the dean and division chairs. The Recruitment and Retention Coordinator reports to the Dean of the College of Education and collaborates with the Director of Academic and Student Services regarding enrollment management initiatives. The position interacts daily with students, staff, faculty and administrators.

This position will also be responsible for developing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with community colleges and other educational institutions. Collaboration will also take place with the Admissions Office to recruit and support the Dual Degree Program. The individual will also work with the Director of Academic and Student Services to build relationships and connections with COE alumni. The individual in this position must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as well as independently. This is a twelve-month, full-time position. Some evening and weekend events may be required. Flexibility and collegiality are critical in dealing with students, university personnel and prospective students

Minimum Qualifications
Earned bachelor's degree is required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Evidence of knowledge of student needs, the University community, and candidate retention
Experience in retention, advising, mentoring, training, and providing academic support that addresses the special characteristics, interests, backgrounds and experiences of students in the College of Education
