Job Description: Controls Engineer

Reports to: Lead Engineer – CWST Engineering

This position will be responsible for all electrical, controls, and automation aspects in the machines built in CWST Engineering (Milwaukee) as well as providing technical support for equipment in CWST facilities around the world for equipment in the field.

This role will be intimately involved in the design and programming of a variety of electrical/PLC/SCADA/robotic control systems. This involvement will be through the whole software/systems life cycle, from design through to coding, testing, installation & configuration and documentation. Knowledge of appropriate machinery safety standards is essential.

Success in this position will require a strong understanding of the mechanical aspects of the machines in order to provide the appropriate designs in electrical hardware/machine automation.

There will be an element of travel necessary for this position.

Technical background and demonstrated aptitude for mechanical equipment

Knowledge of manufacturing processes is desirable

A technical degree – B.S. in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics desirable

5-7 years of relevant work experience (Aerospace experience a plus)

2/3 Years Minimum experience of PLC programming

Experience with programming PLC’s, industrial PC’s & Visual Basic

Experience in preparing electrical wiring layouts/schematics/diagrams using CAD tools

Experience of communication protocols (Ethernet, Profibus)

Knowledge of process control and Instrumentation

Documentation Experience (specifications, H&S documentation, Control System Manuals)
