Scientific Games International, a public company (SGMS) and worldwide leader in the lottery and gaming industry, has an immediate opening in the Des Moines IA area for a full-time Field Service Technician (FST). All FSTs work from their homes, driving company-supplied vans to area retailers to perform installation and maintenance work on sales terminals used by Iowa Lottery retailers. The FST work shift is from 07:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 5 days per week including some weekends. On occasion, evening on-call work may be required.
SGI’s FSTs install and maintain lottery sales terminals and associated communications and display equipment. This work includes installation of the terminal and associated displays, installation of communications devices and running data cables, etc. FSTs work on a mixture of urgent repair tasks assigned by phone and normal preventive maintenance work performed on a calendar basis. FSTs are also expected to train the staffs of newly appointed retailers to operate the sales terminal.
A successful candidate will be a responsible, punctual individual, possessing good technical knowledge and the ability to cordially and effectively communicate with the retailer’s staffs. FSTs must be able to position and climb 24’ ladders and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs. Experience with technology products and/or convenience store retailers are desirable but not necessary.
Training on company processes and equipment will be provided in Iowa. Compensation for this position starts at $12.50/hour. A comprehensive benefits package is available, including paid vacation, medical/dental coverage, short/long term disability and 401k plan.
