The Retirement Plan Service Specialist provides a consultative service for our retirement plan participants. Using our relationship service model as a framework, this role helps to serve Schwab's greater purpose to help our participants become financially fit and create loyal client relationships.

Working as a financial services professional, this position requires a unique blend of industry knowledge and excellent customer service skills to address inquiries, probe to identify needs, and position solutions for our participants. Communicating over the phone, a person in this role will provide guidance on many topics relating to retirement plan specifics and investing. Technical/FunctionalQualifications: Minimum requirement: Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience Customer service experience, preferably in qualified retirement plan and/or brokerage environment Working knowledge of computer and related software applications Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills Ability to relate, empathize and quickly build rapport with clients Effective listening and probing skills to identify cues, understand needs and provide relevant solutions to clients Strong team orientation Good organizational skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments within the established deadlines Effectively respond to client concerns with limited supervision or escalation Preferred Qualifications: Series 7 license Bilingual (Fluent Spanish &226; highly preferred) Ability to mentor new members of the team Basic knowledge of retirement plans Internal Description Synopsis: Description: Organization Objective/Purpose: Fulfill a consultative role by interacting with participants in company retirement plans helping them to and through retirement.
