Position Responsibilities :|
Manages allocation of operational forces to install, test and turn-up, modify and remove both central office and remote terminating equipment within a specific geographic area. Provides administrative and technical support to the Manager in the National Network Installation Operational Center and field personnel in the center organizations, and coordinating work activities with all departments within the assigned area. Travel is required to supervise job sites.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in technical discipline or previous background in Equipment Installation, Operations, Outside Plant or Equipment Engineering organizations or equivalent educational experience.
Working hands-on installation or current Verizon network infrastructure, DMS, 5ESS, Power, Grounding, Ethernet, ATM, ROADM, SONET, DWDM, T3, T1, Broadband and FIOS central office equipment and systems. Strong leadership and supervisory skills, communications oral and written, organizing, planning, coaching and problem solving skills are a must. Ability to track multiple projects simultaneously. Basic PC skills including WORD, EXCEL and Outlook. Familiarity with the following systems CCP, V Build and MSOLV. Ability to interact with various levels of management, various departments and with internal and external customers and vendors.
Desired Skills & Experience:
Two to three years of supervisory experience and Equipment Installation experience. Ability to work with intra and interdepartmental teams to achieve goals. Ability to work and thrive in an unstructured environment. Previous experience in large team management and/or project management. Strong analytical skills. Familiar with current labor contract.
