Live Gamer is looking for an energetic and organized candidate to fill a long-term contract opportunity for a Front End Java Developer in our New York office. In this position, you'll work as a key member of our Engineering team to design, build and test a groundbreaking product for our client a premier global financial institution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Be a front-end developer of a SOA / WebServices platform that integrates with 3rd party financial data with gaming systems.
Be a core contributor to the development and implementation of a robust platform for a premier global financial institution.
Participate in technical discussions and implementation meetings with our in-house team of architects, engineers and project managers.
Provide technical support to 3rd party developers integrating with our platform.
REQUIREMENTS:
Candidate must have experience in UI Technologies including JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, AJAX.
3+ years demonstrated experience with JavaScript libraries: Backbone, Node, jQuery, Modernizer. Script.aculos.us and Coffeescript a plus.
Thorough understanding of cross browser issues.
Web application development experience in PHP, Ruby/RoR, Java a plus.
Front-end web application development knowledge: CSS, Javascript, AJAX.
BS/BA Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
Excellent coding and OOP design skills.
Working knowledge of user, content and site security.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience working in lean / Agile development processes.
Ability to work daily in our New York City office.
COMPENSATION:
This is a full-time contract position compensated at hourly rate.
