The Nurse Practitioner is a skilled member of the allied health care team who provides services to inpatient trauma and ICU patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. Collaboratively working with the Trauma/ICU Surgeon, the advanced practitioner facilitates patient care with focus on the surgical patients. The Nurse Practitioner ensure continuity between clinical practice and standards of care as well as promotes and aids in patient preparation for discharge. This individual works collaboratively with physicians, nurses and case managers and other health care disciplines utilizing a team approach.
Education: Master's Degree in Nursing.
(Education qualifications must be from a school whose accreditation is recognized by Marshfield Clinic.)
License/Certification: Current Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner Licensure in the State of Wisconsin, current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and ATLS certification. Current DEA license.
Experience: Three years experience in critical care nursing, with specialty in trauma nursing. Three years experience in Emergency/Trauma Care environment.
