Computer Vision System Architect
The Mobile and Communications Group is looking for a senior computer vision system architect to join the MCG Platform Architecture team. In this position, you will work with planning, SoC and platform engineering teams to define augmented reality (AR), computer vision, and human computer interaction (HCI) features for smartphone and tablet devices.
You will develop the platform architecture for the integration of these features on smart-phone and tablet platforms, which may include system (SW/HW) level feature prototyping, performance profiling and tuning, defnition of acceleration libraries, specification of system and software architecture partitioning and overall feature performance and hardware acceleration requirements.
For HW changes, you will define key performance requirements, interfaces, memory architecture, power delivery mechanisms, and integration with related features such as audio, camera, video, inertial sensors and graphics.
You will work with engineering development teams to identify key architecture issues, analyze, simulate, and prototype select concepts to show feasibility or optimize power/performance. Excellent problem solving, communication skills, and ability to work globally across organizations and sites is needed.
Ph.d or MS with original contributions in the field of computer vision with focus on visual feature detection and description, tracking and recovery, and sensor-aware algorithms for mobile AR.
Hands on implementation & product development experience on mobile devices in the area of real-time markerless tracking of 2D/3D targets and demonstrated ability to implement code designed to be multi-platform compatible (Android, iOS, Win8).
Demonstrated ability and inclination to optimize on new mobile platforms with special attention to the low-level algorithmic performance while meeting the AR real-time constraints and platfor power constraints.
