Contribute to and implement a successful Mid-South Relay For Life Program that ensures current growth and viability and follows expectations of a comprehensive multi-year strategic plan. In conjunction with Sr. RFL Director and RFL Director, develops, implements and monitors the Relay For Life component of the division approved Relay For Life plan to increase annual and long-term income in Relay For Life. Effectively trains, guides and supports the field to execute the Relay For Life plan following a defined sales methodology. Responsible for ensuring the assigned area Relay For Life goals and objectives are met.
Works in conjunction with the Development Department and the State Vice President to implement and monitor the Relay For Life component of the Division approved Relay For Life plan, utilizing a defined sales methodology approach.
Serves as a member of the Relay for Life Business Unit and comprehensively and effectively plans and implements Relay For Life strategies to ensure continued income growth for the program.
Meets the Area Relay For Life plan goals and objectives, including contingency planning. Analyzes monthly income status reports and provides feedback to State Vice President and Development Department.
Responsible for implementing a comprehensive Relay For Life Training Program. Works closely with supervisors to identify training and learning needs of the staff on the income development programs, initiatives and activities. Responsible for entering records into the Division’s Learning Management System. Provides input to the Division Development Department on field staffs’ training needs.
In conjunction with Division Development Department, assess division and state Relay for Life performance and continually make recommendations for growth opportunities.
Selects, positions and utilizes human, technological and fiscal resources to reach the Division’s objectives.
Contribute to and implement programs and activities, which position the American Cancer Society for the future and prioritizes issues and makes decisions based on relevance to Mid-South’s objectives.
Acts as a catalyst for change and encourages and supports others in their change efforts.
Proactively and assertively addresses issues as they arise.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Five years of successful Relay for Life experience. Demonstrated knowledge of RFL event activities and the ability to coordinate the production of the event.
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to perform learning needs assessments and conduct classroom training using appropriate adult learning techniques. Ability to maintain comprehensive data records. Solid project management skills and ability to respond to changing circumstances and priorities in a focused manner. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office software, internet-based applications and computer equipment.
Frequent Daily and Overnight Travel. Off Site Meetings
