This high school social studies instructor is part of the instructional department that develops and coordinates the UNCSA high school social studies curriculum. The instructor is responsible for teaching four (4) sections of high school social studies; currently including World History, World Cultural History, and U.S. History.These courses may encompass all levels of high school social studies for grades 9 thru 12.
The instructor will serve as academic advisor for students, attend faculty meetings, serve on committees and fulfill other duties as assigned by the Dean of the High School Academic Program. The instructor will have office hours made available to students, enter mid-term reports and submit grades on-line as appropriate.
Candidates should possess a commitment to high school teaching, outstanding classroom skills, an interest in the arts, and a willingness to support the artistic and academic life of the campus. Candidates should preferably have or be pursuing a minimum of a Master's Degree in History, Economics, American Government, Social Studies Education/Teaching or a related field. Candidates should preferably have at least three years of experience teaching high school Social Studies and be able to teach all levels of high school students.
