Registered Nurse - Cardiac Transition Unit
Responsible for the delivery of evidence-based patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his/her assigned unit through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation; responsible and accountable for planning, delegating and coordinating the nursing care rendered to patients, including assessment, interdisciplinary planning, patient and family education and support and the appropriate assignment of patient care to staff while maintaining standards of care.
Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred. Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, regulatory codes, personnel and administrative policies required. Minimum of 2 years experience as a RN required. Cardiac monitoring knowledge and arrhythmia interpretation skills preferred. I.V. certification required. ACLS certification preferred. Experience in step down unit or med/surg preferred. Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development through continuing education required. Must possess the ability to function as part of a team.
BLS/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations:
1. American Heart Association - BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program
2. American Red Cross - CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
