Duties may include: installing, repairing, maintaining and
operating water distribution system facilities, grounds and associated
equipment by repairing, tapping & installing mains and service lines;
installing & maintaining valves, hydrants, flush risers, and performing
flushing activities. Provides restoration of excavations as necessary. Perform
flow tests, leak surveys, line locations & water quality tests. Obtain
water samples, keep accurate records of work performed, and locating mains and
HS degree or equivalent,
and at least 1 year experience working with water mains and services.
Valid Driver’s License, Class A CDL, or ability to obtain.
state license or certification in distribution operation, or ability to obtain.
Basic knowledge of groundwater distribution system.
Ability to transport up to 90 lbs. in
repetitive motions, operate in inclement weather, and enter/exit manholes.
Ability to read and interpret maps and use
engineer’s scale to determine grades.
Ability to use heavy equipment and
various hand, gas, electric & hydraulic tools.
Knowledge of carpentry,
cement work, painting and plumbing.
