The City of Montrose is accepting applications for an Assistant Planner to perform a variety of general and specialized professional planning functions at the direction of the Community Development Director and Senior Planner. Duties include performing professional-level planning functions in support of assigned projects involving conducting studies, analyzing data and preparing reports. Assists in support of the City Planning Commission, presentations, reports and public participation. Provides customer service to the public in relation to planning activities. Interprets and explains code requirements, city ordinances, regulations and planning and zoning policies to other departments, contractors and other professionals and the general public.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree from four year college or university in Planning, Geography, Public Administration with a Planning emphasis or related field preferred; five (5) years related experience in Community Development. Two (2) years of related computer skills, including proficiency with common office software, Geographic Information Systems, Internet research and planning-specific software.
