Goucher College’s Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Sociology beginning Fall 2011. In addition to teaching introductory sociology, candidates must be prepared to offer courses in two or more of the following areas: urban sociology, sociology of education, race and ethnicity, and environmental sociology. Teaching load is 2-3, plus a one credit writing course for majors.
We seek candidates with a dedication to student mentoring, ongoing scholarly research, a strong commitment to teaching and the liberal arts, and service to the department and college. The position requires the completion of a Ph.D. in Sociology before the time of appointment.
Goucher College is a selective liberal arts college located in Towson, Maryland, twenty minutes north of Baltimore, MD.
