POSITION DESCRIPTION :
1. JOB PURPOSE:
Assist with all business and accounting transactions related to Athletic ticket sales and receipts. Assists in general operation of ticket office functions.
2. JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Receives incoming calls and visitors daily and on football game days, referring or assisting appropriately. Responds to questions from customers pertaining to all sports, such as, seating locations, parking locations, ticket sales, etc. Solves programmatic and procedure problems which require substantial knowledge of Athletic and IPTAY rules and regulations. Dispense tickets to over-the-counter customers, collecting payment by method of check, cash, or credit card. E/45%
2. Verify season and single game ticket orders for all sports, which include Football, Men's and Women's Basketball, and Baseball, ensuring that the enclosed payment matches order. Batch orders and posts information into database system. Runs reports and balances money against orders posted. E/35%
3. Handles all facets for assigned sport. E/10%
4. Type and edit routine correspondence as needed. E/10%
A high school diploma and related experience may be substituted for high school diploma.
PREFERRED IN ADDITION TO THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree and experience with Paciolan Ticketing System; Expereince in related position such as bank teller, or customer service, requires communication and people skills, money handling experience.
ADDITIONAL COMMENTS :
There are specific procedures and policies that each employee must follow to ensure the interigity of the ticket office. The employee will receive daily limited supervision to keep up-to-date on current procedures and policies. Because this position handles money and tickets, the employee must be trustworthy and accurate in all transactions.
PAY & WORK SCHEDULE :
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 03 ($ 21,484.00 - $ 39,754.00)
This position will require evening and weekend work, outdoors at designated events, in addition to working in a normal office setting during regular business hours.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
Communication skills, people skills computer knowledge, ability to follow instructions, and work under limited supervision. The initiative self-motivation to handle tasks on your own, and the ability to handle large sums of money. Requires patience in dealing with sometimes irate customers. Requires the ability to work under stressful conditions during very busy seasonal sales. Skills are acquired from high school, college, short courses through other jobs, part-time or full-time, hobbies,or special interests in sports.
