Provides management of apparel, embroidery and/or footwear manufacture and the leadership of staff, to positively impact customer loyalty and to achieve plant and industry strategic objectives for quality products and accurate and complete orders delivered on time. Partners with unit staff in achieving strategic objectives at the unit and industry levels. Effectively models professional business conduct, general equipment operation knowledge, and apparel, embroidery and/or footwear manufacturing expertise. Effectively develops staff and offender performance outcomes through effective training, observation, and measures. Effectively motivates offenders through positive leadership, recognition, and incentives (as applicable). Effectively manages quality initiatives and adherence to operating procedures and quality standards. Effectively creatse an environment of continuous improvement, that ensures quality products and cost effective use of labor and raw materials. Effectively manages customer service delivery, and an environment of creative solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations. Effectively manages safety, security and inventory controls to safeguard persons, property and financial assets. Ensures compliance with all applicable policies, laws, and institutional guidelines.
High school diploma or equivalent. Advanced to expert level knowledge of apparel, embroidery and/or footwear manufacturing. Advanced to expert knowledge in planning, organizing, directing, correcting, adapting, recordkeeping, purchasing, collaborating, communicating, problem solving, motivating, and developing others. Working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, and Excel. Demonstrated ability in supervisory of operating procedures, quality standards, performance documentation, and/or production summaries. Ability to understand accounting and computerized inventory systems, and profit and loss reports. Knowledge of general business and quality management. Demonstrated ability to work independently, to resolve problems, and perform effectively in complex work situations and within extensive procedural or regulatory requirements. Ability to effectively manage a high volume production operation. Effective communication skills both orally and written.
Prefer Bachelor's or Associate's degree or other technical certification. Prefer experience in progressively demanding positions within the apparel and/or footwear industry. Prefer experience in embroidery and sewing, or production processes involving sewn fabric pieces, zippers, button holes, grommets, eyelets, pattern making, upholstery, or piece good assembly.
