Marathon Oil Company seeks Oklahoma based Land Technician/Analyst. The successful candidate will have the ability to demonstrate increasing responsibility in oil and gas exploration and development operations. Texas land experience preferred, but all relevant experience will be considered.
Create and maintain a drilling schedule for assigned group. Monitor the Drill Ready Tracker for changes in scheduling and also monitor progress on each Land Department responsibility leading to “Land Ready” status.
Track units and wellbore path for expiration dates and monitor float days critical for leasehold expirations.
Monitor broker contracts for number of brokers and coding of broker invoices.
Organize run sheets and title opinions to assist in the prioritization of work between the brokers and the Land Professionals.
Track outside well proposals to ensure appropriate and timely communication to outside operators.
Monitor all competitor activity for wells that may create offset obligations.
Interface with the San Antonio Land Department and the subsurface group to communicate participant data requirements.
Assist with any special projects including research and creating various reports for management and partners.
Assist Land Management and Budget Coordinator in monitoring the Land Budget and maintaining Lease Purchase Authorities.
Degree: Bachelors Preferred
Major: PLM or Business Degree preferred
Computer: Land Management Applications and/or Reporting Applications and SAP preferred.
Proficiencies: Experience with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skill level required. Experience with ESRI’s Arc View a plus.
Certifications: CPLTA a plus but none required
Work Experience: Minimum two (2) years work experience in the oil & gas industry, with experience as a Land Professional, Lease Broker, Lease Analyst or Division Order Analyst preferred.
