NMS Supervisor / Assitant Manager

Hiring for Local Manager to live and work in Sitka, AK
Manage and supervise all shift operations and personnel to ensure that all cleaning activities, tasks, projects, and special projects are completed at each shift and according to schedule.
Manage and supervise all operations and personnel in accordance with established NMS policies and procedures.
Establishes and maintains good customer/client relationships and communication to ensure that all cleaning tasks are performed efficiently and within scheduled times.
Supports and promotes the NMS Safety Program. Performs general administrative/office tasks ensuring that all shift employees are adhering and complying with all internal and external safety practices, rules, regulations, and policies.
Responsible for shift scheduling to include: work station assignments/rotations, schedules replacements for absent employees and shift rotations, overtime assignments, employee breaks, employee training, and employee vacations. Maintain employee time cards and records.
Coordinate with the EVS Manager for maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
Performs a wide variety of tasks regarding employee related matters such as: general employment issues and concerns, maintaining employee required documentations and records; performs employee orientations, training, evaluations, counseling, disciplining, and
Ensures that the responsibilities and tasks of all assigned employees are defined and understood. Provide staff training in improving deficiencies and ensuring that tasks are in conformance with standard operating policies, procedures, and practices.
Ensure that all equipment is maintained in compliance with service requirements, safe operating guidelines, and the training of employees regarding the safe use and care of the equipment. Maintain equipment logs and records.
Assist and coordinate with the EVS Manager in identifying shift problems, inefficiencies, work deficiencies; and developing and executing solutions to the problems.
Schedule and conduct shift meetings.
Employs professionalism in all aspects, activities, and communication.
Responsible for shift performance and quality controls. Making
necessary adjustments during each shift to meet cleaning
goals and activities.
Performs scheduled and periodic inspections of all cleaning areas.
Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
Assist in cleaning as necessary.
Other related duties as assigned by the General Manager.
Supervises, directs, and oversees all Swing shift employees. Responsible for providing direction, coordination, disciplining, training, and evaluation of all swing shift employees. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and new employee orientations and training; provides planning, assigning, and directing work details; addressing employee complaints and providing problem solving and strategizing ; and accomplishing annual performance evaluations of all swing shift employees.
THE POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
High School Graduation Diploma/GED including post secondary training. Preference will be given to those with two (2) years related training in a College, or Vocational/Technical school.
At least two (2) years of experience directly related to this field of work.
The ability to operate general office equipment and business software programs.
Knowledgeable and skilled in managing, planning, and organizing EVS activities, with the ability to address operational and technical matters. Must be able to review and work with general business reports, communications, and general trade information and processes.
A suitability and capacity for a position of authority and delegation. The ability to work towards accomplishing goals and objectives with a sense of urgency. The ability to work effectively with minimal supervision or support.
The ability to support honest and fair treatment of employees and customers/clients. Ability to communicate and convey messages and directions in a professional manner.
Knowledgeable about the use of industrial cleaning products and chemicals, and interpreting Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
The ability to effectively communicate performance expectations to employees. The ability to balance multiple activities with an attention to detail. The recognition that service is a demonstrated attitude and a state of mind, and not a task or step.
Background position description ranking skill levels:
Language skills sufficient to: 1. Read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 2. Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 3. Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Math skills sufficient to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, or volume. Reasoning abilities sufficient to: 1. Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 2. Interpret and variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Incumbents are regularly required to stand, sit, talk, and hear. They are occasionally required to walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. They must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include color vision, and depth perception. The noise level is usually quiet.
