We currently have a career opportunity for a Maintenance Oiler at our Harbor Drive facility in San Diego, CA.

Job Description:
Working with minimal supervision, Maintenance Oilers perform lubrication and coolant services on various machine tools within the facility buildings. Oilers also perform metal machining chip segregation, disposal and clean up functions. They also support waste water treatment plant personnel with cleaning of associated tanks, pumps and hazardous waste spills.

Principal Accountabilities:
Perform lubrication, coolant replenishing, greasing, and cleaning of production equipment and machines according to manufcaturer’s specifications, charts, and schedules, oral and written instructions.

Maintain lubricating equipment as required.

Recognize such improper functioning of machinery and other mechanical equipment such as unusual noise and overheating of bearings and report to proper personnel.

Use of refractometer to determine the condition of water soluable coolants and add water or coolant as required.

Maintain lubricating records and charts.

HAZMAT response to spills in order to prevent flow into storm drains and harbor.

Utilize maintenance CMMS system to receive work assignments and to document work accomplished.

Required to be qualified in the following: 1) Gas detection device; respirator trained; forklift qualified; confined space; Lock Out Tag Out; crane; propane loading; coolant conditioning utilizing refractometer; and HAZMAT response.

Inventory oils, greases, coolant drums and EDM and other specialized fluids.

Use of hand & power tools and portable pumps.

Must have high school diploma or a GED.

Must be able to climb ladders assume squatting & bending positions in tight spaces.

Must be able to work any shift.

Must be able to use hand & power tools.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Local candidates will be given strong preference.
