The GIS intern will initially work on GPS device management, GPS deployment, address geocoding and GIS/GPS data management. The intern will have the opportunity to assist in other related projects involving creation and editing of spatial data in ArcGIS, GIS research, and other GIS work assigned.
- Completed undergraduate degree in GIS, Geography, Planning, or a related field; and have at least 6 credit hours in Geography, GIS, Planning or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Preference to those with experience using ESRI ArcGIS software, familiarity with the editing / geocoding tools in ArcGIS 9.3 or 10.0.
- Interest in survey research with abilities in database management, Microsoft Excel, Access, SPSS, and GPS data collection are preferred.
- Highly organized and detail oriented. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Positive attitude, flexibility, and problem-solving mentality
