The Corrosion Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing preferred practice material and process selections on all new model programs, which will meet our corporate corrosion objectives. The Corrosion Engineer will participate in design reviews, risk assessments and corrosion related development issues. Provide component/vehicle accelerated corrosion test requirements and analyze test results. Coordinate vehicle level corrosion assessments and presenting at program review meetings.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Material Science from an ABET accredited university
Minimum of 2 or more years of experience with corrosion testing/test methods
Minimum of 3 or more years of experience in material/process selection for the prevention of automotive corrosion

Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, Material Science or Mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university
Minimum of 3 or more years of experience in material/process selection for the prevention of automotive corrosion
Design For Six Sigma (FDSS) greenbelt
Understanding of automotive systems including body, chassis, fuel, brake, cooling and exhaust
Knowledge of materials and processes related to: paint, plating, fastener coatings, castings, and sheet metal
Additional experience in manufacturing is a plus
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to articulate, communicate and implement a strategy/vision

Strong Microsoft Office skills
