Manages all aspects of routine and special ordering of instrumentation & disposable products for the Surgical Services Department. Facilitates the return of faulty equipment for repair, arranges for replacement equipment, and returns loaner equipment in coordination with the Surgical Services Unit Coordinator. Functions as a liaison between the Materials Management Department and the Surgical Services. Manages the Pyxis system as it pertains to: inventory control, stocking, organization, and PAR levels. Issues and delivers medical supplies using Paragon generated PO's. Completes paperwork for issue reconciliation and department requisitions. Provides physical cycle counts on a monthly basis of assigned Pyxis supply items. Monitors expiration dates and rotates stock while refilling and inventory Pyxis stations.
Knowledge of Pyxis Supply machines and Paragon software preferred. Computer experience and ability to troubleshoot are a must. Applicant must possess excellent communication skills to facilitate resolution. Clinical and surgical experience preferred. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required. Extensive knowledge of surgical supplies, and equipment. Must be able to problem solve, work independently and be willing to assist in a variety of department operations in a team oriented approach.
