This position is responsible for providing oversight and direction of Mylan’s Global Sourcing function in key regions to assure consistent communication and oversight of strategic sourcing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the direct liaison as it relates to supplier selection, qualification, negotiations, contracting, commercialization and life cycle management.

Assist in the management of sourcing programs, processes and staff and ensure adherence to approved cost, quality, compliance, service, intellectual property and ethical standards and goals.

Serve as the direct liaison between members of the global, regional, and site Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing, Business Development, Launch Management, Manufacturing, Technology Transfer and Supply Chain teams to provide central oversight and direct awareness of business issues for Mylan’s strategic alliances.

Promote new product success via effective integration with product development teams.

Support cost savings, vertical integration, alternate source, risk mitigation and life cycle management programs to optimize the supply base and reduce COGS.

Apprise Mylan executive management of business status through routine updates.

Support continuous improvement in all aspects of the sourcing process by leveraging internal and external tools.

Know portfolio and help identify products, channels, cost drivers, and emerging technologies and services in order to lead change to existing channels or to suggest alternatives.

Partner with key stakeholders and business unit management to manage supplier relationships and deliver the highest value possible from all API suppliers.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE

Must possess in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, the Mylan organization, and functional responsibilities of key areas including Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Sourcing and Purchasing, Business Development, Launch Management, Manufacturing, Technology Transfer and Supply Chain. Gain an in-depth understanding of capabilities for each alliance to aid in strategic decision making.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must possess strong written and oral communication skills along with expert organizational skills. The ability to develop meaningful tracking tools and descriptive metrics is necessary. Strong interpersonal relationship and diplomatic skills are essential.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and minimum of 10 years of experience. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. Fifteen years of key experience in the pharmaceutical industry, strategic alliance management, or executive project management is highly preferred. Masters degree preferred.
