SOUTH CAROLINA AIR NATIONAL GUARD

National Guard Membership is Required :
This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the South Carolina Air

National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

This position is located in the Airfield Management/Flight Services Branch which is responsible for coordinating and maintaining liaison with military, federal, and local agencies concerning airspace utilization, flying operations, aircraft emergencies, search and rescue operations, and natural disasters. This full-performance level position provides direct support to unit and other military and civilian aircrews during scheduled and unscheduled flying and ground activities. The incumbent works independently on standard and extended and/or rotating shifts to provide aircrews with information and assistance necessary for planning and conducting safe flight operations.

Minimum Requirement:
Experience, education, or training interpreting, explaining, and/or applying a variety of regulations and procedures. Experience using computer and automation systems.

Meeting the months of experience requirement will not by itself be accepted as proof of qualification. Quality, type, and scope of experience, training or education must be demonstrated to show that the applicant is fully qualified to perform duties at the grade level announced.

Specialized Experience:
You MUST have 24 months experience in EACH of the following KSAs:

1. Experience in arranging or producing transportation for personnel, cargo or freight.

2. Experience in pre and post auditing of freight bills, bills of lading, and personnel transportation vouchers.

3. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems.

Substitution Education for Specialized Experience:
A maximum of 12 months of the required experience may be substituted by successful completion of undergraduate study in an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours for 12 months of experience. The education must have been in fields directly related to the type of work of the position (i.e., traffic management, business administration, etc.).

Note: If you are substituting education for specialized experience, a transcript MUST be submitted with your application.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Employees selected for full-time positions that require mandatory training at the National Guard Professional Education Center (NGPEC) will have 12 months from the date of hire to complete the required course(s). Failure to complete NGB prescribed courses at NGPEC for new personnel within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment or termination.

Enlisted Cash Bonuses: Acceptance of a technician position may affect any bonus and/or educational assistance that may be applicable. Your bonus may be terminated and repayment may be required.

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) cost is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the interst of the Government.

For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they love or are principally employed.
