DEGREE REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIECE: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics (with ten (10) years pertinent experience), or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics (with six (6) years pertinent experience), or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Physics (with three (3) years pertinent experience). Experience in Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and/or Configurable Programmable Logic Device (CPLD) firmware, and electronics hardware design, production, and troubleshooting.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS: US Citizenship. Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance. Support missile and aviation Automated Test Equipment (ATE) development and modernization efforts which support component and system level tests. Work as part of an integrated team comprised of personnel of various disciplines (electrical, electronics, electro-optical, mechanical, hardware, software, and systems). The work to be performed will primarily be in the area of ATE modernization programs. Various groups engaged in both laboratory and field testing of aviation and missile electronics testing will be supported; therefore, an ability to support a variety of technical teams and team members is essential to successful performance of the work. Knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) in particular technical areas are expected and should be reflected in the candidate’s application. Experience with Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and Configurable Programmable Logic Device (CPLD) firmware development, troubleshooting, and testing using Verilog/VHDL languages. Experience with schematic capture, reading, and creation as well as Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout. Familiarity with industry standard CAD, synthesis and simulation tools (Mentor Graphics Modelsim, Altera Quartus II) a plus. Ability to multitask and change tasks with short notice is a must. KSAs in the following technical areas are highly desired and should be reflected in the candidate’s application. Highly desired experience includes: Firmware design, implementation, and verification targeting FPGA and/or CPLD including selection and integration to meet design specifications and requirements using Verilog and/or VHDL hardware description languages (experience with Altera FPGAs and tools a plus). Familiarity with circuit design including analog and digital logic, microprocessors, digital signal processors and A/D, D/A converters. Experience troubleshooting complex electrical and system problems sometimes involving software, hardware, or firmware using troubleshooting equipment (digital or analog oscilloscopes, meters, analyzers, etc.).
